  • One Direction is the most appearing artiste in this year's countdown (5 times)
  • A new intro was recorded for this year's Top 100 opening sequence, replacing the old intro that was in use from 2006-2011.
  • Even though Ms Vandetta had already left the station, her voice can still be heard in various jingles used throughout the show.
  • For 2 years in a row, the #1 song consists of a signature dance move. Gangnam Style popularized the horse-riding dance while Party Rock Anthem (#1 song of 2011) popularized shuffling.
  • The Top 3 songs feature artistes that made their breakthrough in the music industry this year. Prior to 2012, Gotye, Carly and PSY were relatively unknown artistes.
  • This year's chart sees only one song (No Regrets) which did not appear on the Top 20 appearing on the Top 100.
  • We Are Young appears in the Top 10, despite not attaining the #1 spot in its Top 20 chart run (it peaked at #6).
  • No guests were invited to the studio since 2012.
  • Sky's The Limit is the 1st local song to make it into the Top 20 of the Top 100 since 2007.
  • Talking to the Moon charted at the same position (#97) for the second year in a row.
